2019 Trends by the team @ The Interior Designer

A new year means the opportunity to refresh and rejuvenate your home and although some elements of home décor never go out of style, interior trends come and go and we have some fabulous suggestions for you for 2019.

The Interior Designer has our top trends for 2019 and am sure you will love them as much as we do. As we look over the yearbook of trends for 2018, we saw an enormous amount of industrial style, pastels, Hampton’s style and marble. Whilst all of these trends are still around in 2019, we are seeing a lot of bronze come through in interiors and warmer tones such as misty greys, greens and very pale blues. Pops of colour will also showcase, with pops of pink and deep reds featuring throughout.

Wood is a traditional material that always features on our trends list, and while the use of wood has grown in popularity year after year, it is proving to be even more popular this year. The trend is to bring the outdoors in, as people are increasingly seeking interior pieces based on nature. Wood is a timeless and versatile material that we cannot imagine will ever go out of style.

A combination of sensory and visual texture will be on trend throughout 2019, so marble and terrazzo will continue. We are seeing obscure marble patterns, matte finishes on timber and metal and we love the textured wallpapers that are making a bold statement. Textured wallpapers are definitely not for everyone, as they are such a statement piece and do tend to go out of style quite quickly, so do your research into this particular trend.

As we see new trends featuring, we are seeing a rise in geometry and grids and love the square mosaics that are making a return also.

At The Interior Designer we are finding that unique items are selling well and many people are mixing and matching new and vintage pieces to create a beautiful story. We love that coloured glass objects and textured glass pieces are making a comeback, as they really suit any style of home.

Boho is a trend that comes and goes and we are seeing it as a trendsetter in 2019. Layering and patterned fabrics are back in and bold in colour. The hippie, boho-chic theme is fun and laidback and many popular pieces are giving off the bohemian vibe in the New Year.

Choosing interior pieces for your home décor is a personal choice and we are sure you will love our popular pieces from www.theinteriordesigner.com.au.
